Getting started

Create a group from the home screen, then open it and tap +. You can add anyone as a member, even people who don't use the app, or send an invitation link so friends can join with their own account. Start an expense list inside the group, add expenses, and GangPay works out who owes whom.

Invitations

Invitation links look like gangpay.app/i/…. On a phone with GangPay installed the link opens the app; otherwise it shows the group and where to download the app. To add members or send invitations, first confirm your email address or phone number (Settings → Verify email & phone). To invite someone you added by name, tap them in the group.

Settling up

Open an expense list and tap Settle Up to see the suggested transfers. When someone pays back, tap Mark as paid; you can change the amount for partial paybacks. Recorded paybacks are listed below the transfers and can be deleted if entered by mistake.

Your account

Change your name, email or phone in Settings → Profile, and your password in Settings → Change password.

Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and we'll email you a code to choose a new one.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings → Delete account and confirm with your password. This removes your name, email address, phone number, profile photo and password, and signs you out on every device.

  • Groups you own pass to another member who uses the app, or are deleted if there is none.
  • Expenses you shared stay in their groups under an anonymized name (for example "[Deleted] J.D."), so the other members' balances still add up.

If you can't use the app anymore, email us from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.

Ads

GangPay shows ads to stay free. These ads are not personalized. Where the law requires it, such as in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choice in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
